WITH just a few days to Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the festive spirit is growing as glittering lights come alight around the neighbourhood and merry blasts of fireworks punctuate the nights.

Now that we are in the last week of Ramadan, it is customary for the Malays to brighten their house with pelita (traditional kerosene lamps) or colourful electric fairy lights to usher in Hari Raya.
