'TMI' as Barbie Hsu, South Korean hubby discuss married life on talk show

PETALING JAYA: It was a case of “too much information” when some details of the marriage between Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu and her husband, South Korean singer Koo Jun-yup, better known as DJ Koo, were revealed in a recent Dee Girls Talk show in Taiwan, reports Nanyang Siang Pau.

The Chinese daily reported that Koo would pamper his wife, Barbie, like a child and even feed her during their meals.

The actress’ younger sister, Dee Hsu, who was the talk show host, said Barbie would lie on Koo’s shoulder and enjoy the morsels fed by him.

“This is because I am compensating for the lost 20 years when I did not have a love life. I hope that you will understand us,” Koo said during the talk show.

Dee said Koo not only treated her sister well but cared for everyone in the family, including herself and her mother.

“Until now, my sister and brother-in-law are still showing how much of a loving couple they are, as if they are in a Korean drama,” she said.

Dee said during her mother’s birthday, Koo even had Korean actor Cha In-pyo record a greeting message in Chinese for the older woman, who wept upon watching the video.

The relationship between the 46-year-old Barbie and 53-year-old Koo, who was once one of South Korea’s most renowned DJs, started back in 1997, but due to the “dating ban” in the K-pop industry, they split in 2000.

They rekindled their romance after Barbie’s divorce in 2021 and tied the knot in February 2022.
