One of the identical twin daughters born to Datuk Mahmood Ambak and Datin MariamAbdullah on Dec 24, 1940. Of Malay-Japanese parentage, Endon wasone of 11 siblings. Her twin, Noraini, died of breast cancer in January 2003. Married Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Sept 4, 1965. The couple has two children (Kamaluddin,38, married to Azrene Abdullah, and Nori, 29,married to Khairy Jamaluddin) and fourgrandchildren (Alya Kamaluddin, nine, and hissiblings, Arif, seven, Amira, five, and Ahmad, four).

Conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Endon has also been awarded various awardsnamely:
