MP retracts claim over suit with ex-police chief


KUALA LUMPUR: Former Sentul police chief ACP K. Kumaran settled his defamation suit against Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam after the parliamentarian retracted his allegations in relation to the mysterious death of actress K. Sujatha.

Manikavasagam, who read out his retraction and undertaking in open court, said he recognised and accepted that the contents of his media statement, dated Aug 3, 2007, were defamatory of ACP Kumaran.
