Chittys celebrate Bhogi Parachu before ushering Ponggal


MALACCA: Some 30 families in the six-centuries-old Kampung Chitty here are geared up for the Bhogi Parachu ceremony, an ancestral ritual to be celebrated today before ushering in the Ponggal festival.

Every year, the Chitty community spends time preparing for the ceremony, which is an elaborate and meticulous process.
