TO save their crops from drought, residents in five villages near Palaniin Dindigul in Tamil Nadu, India, performed ancient rites for the Rain God, reported Tamil Nesan.

Most of the villagers were farmers whose livelihood had been badly affected by the lack of rainfall over the past two years.
