MCMC fines radio station over Reza Aslan interview


PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian radio station has been fined RM 10,000 by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) over an interview with Iranian-American Muslim scholar Reza Aslan which aired on Oct 21 last year.

According to news portal reports, the station was fined under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for violating the special licence conditions of Individual Content Applications Service Provider (CASP-I), which stipulates the regulator’s approval must be obtained before any live or delayed telecast.
