PETALING JAYA: Datuk Zaid Ibrahim was in Sydney to visit a friend but his plans were derailed when a hostage-taking incident took place just two blocks from his hotel.
The former de facto law minister, who is on a two-day visit to Australia, said he arrived an hour after the incident started.
