Managers can renew worker permits

PETALING JAYA: The Immigration Department has relaxed its procedures for the over-the-counter renewal of foreign worker permits with human resource managers now allowed to handle it.

“After taking into account feedback and opinions of various parties, company directors and human resource managers are permitted to renew the workers’ permits over the counter, besides employers or company owners,” Immigration Department director-general Datuk Mustafa Ibrahim said in a statement yesterday.
