KUALA LUMPUR: The Special Task Force will investigate to determine the authenticity of the documents and other materials related to 1Malaysia Development Berhad received from The Edge Media Group.

"The report on the outcome of the investigation will be submitted to the attorney-general," a police source said.

The Edge handed over documents, printed e-mails and hard discs on 1MDB in its possession to the Commercial Criminal Investigation Department in Bukit Aman on Tuesday.

On Monday, The Edge Financial Daily published a four-page article focusing on the joint venture between 1MDB and PetroSaudi International.

1MDB, in a statement yesterday, slammed the newspaper, saying the allegations in the report were "baseless and recycled". - Bernama
