GEORGE TOWN: Penang will start its waste segregation at source policy in a simple way by initially requiring the public to just separate recyclables and organic waste instead of having to separate the different items.
State Local Government Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow said Penangites need only to segregate recyclables such as paper, plastic and aluminum in one bag and organic waste in another bag under the policy which is scheduled to be implemented in June next year.
