Zoo Negara to close on Tuesdays

KUALA LUMPUR: Zoo Negara will be closed every Tuesday beginning this month, said its deputy president Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana. He said that for the first time in its 52-year operation, Zoo Negara had decided to take a one-day rest each week to clean the cages and areas in the zoo.

“The closure is necessary because of a shortage of workers,” he told reporters after attending the birthday celebration of Tsunami, the female orang utan from Sumatra on Thursday.
