‘LPT2 meets MHA standards’

PETALING JAYA: Tests done on the East Coast Expressway 2’s (LPT2) road pavement surface after a spate of accidents has found the quality of the highway to be within the standards set by the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA).

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said an independent company tested 184km of the highway on Jan 3-5 to profile the road’s International Roughness Index (IRI) found that only 0.4% of the stretch checked had a reading of over 3.8m per km. The figure is well below the maximum acceptable percentage of 5% set under MHA’s Pavement Durability Performance Measure.
