Teacher wins RM400,000 in suit against former principal


GEORGE TOWN: A 56-year-old teacher who filed a defamation suit against her former principal was awarded RM400,000 in damages by a Sessions Court here.

Former SMK Convent Lebuh Light principal Lee Chooi Sian, who was named as defendant, was ordered to pay RM350,000 in general damages and RM50,000 in aggravated damages to teacher Wong Geok Lan, who was also granted an injunction to refrain Lee and her agents from repeating the defamatory remarks.
