MMEA: Piracy at all-time low


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) conducted more than 50,000 searches last year on vessels in Malaysian waters to curb piracy.

MMEA director-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar said 33,000 random searches were carried out last year, targeting vessels in the Strait of Malacca, South China Sea and Sulu Sea.
