GEORGE TOWN: Thanks to the sea, life can go on for people in Teluk Bahang as they wait for their flood-­damaged main artery to be restored.

About 20 licensed passenger boat operators in this northwestern corner of the island – fondly named “The End of the World” by Penang­ites – are keeping tourism afloat by acting as water taxis.
