KL-Singapore HSR dynamics may vary

Key project: The HSR is an impetus towards socio-economic development in Malaysia as economic clusters will be built around each station along its corridor, as unveiled at the Malaysian International Trade Exhibition Centre last October.

JUST before the Malaysia-Singapore Summit down south earlier last week, Japan came out strongly with improved proposition for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project.

It was unsure whether the announcements by the Japanese were timed to coincide with the bilateral meeting in Singapore, but the HSR was certainly a topic of discussion between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Singapore’s Premier Lee Hsien Loong.
