Prosecution to prove UPNM cadet tortured to death


KUALA LUMPUR: The prosecution will prove the death of Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) student, cadet officer Zulfarhan Osman Zulkar­nain, was due to the fact he was beaten, kicked and burnt with a hot steam iron by 19 other students for refusing to confess he had stolen a laptop.

Deputy public prosecutor Oth­man Abdullah told the High Court here the prosecution would also prove the involvement of the 19 in murdering, abetting to murder and causing injury to the deceased.
