MyPPP – High-riding party of 1950s comes sliding down


PETALING JAYA: MyPPP’s history dates back to 1953 when it was formed as an Opposition party against the Alliance, which comprised Umno, MCA and MIC.

Then known as the “Perak Progressive Party”, it joined the Alliance the following year and won a seat in the Ipoh Town Council but withdrew in 1955 due to non-allocation of seats for the party.
