KUALA LUMPUR: It will be a five-cornered fight for the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat with incumbent Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali battling it out with his younger brother, Azwan, who is running as an independent candidate.
Flamboyant Azwan, 52, arrived at Dewan Dato Ahmad Razali before 9am in a bright red jacket and sunglasses to file his papers.
Azwan appeared enthusiastic posing with his independent logo depicting an elephant.
"I chose the elephant because it is big and strong," he said, adding that his main manifesto was #rakyat#1.
The other candidates contesting for the seat are Barisan Nasional's Salwa Yunos from Umno, PAS' Sharifah Hazlizah Syed Ariffin and Ahmad Kamarudin from Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM).
Returning Officer Abdul Hamid Hussain made the official announcement at 10.17am.
For the Ampang parliamentary seat, it is a four-cornered fight where incumbent Zuraida Kamaruddin will face Barisan candidate Datuk Leong Kim Soon from MCA, PAS' Nurul Islam Mohamed Yusoff and PRM's Tan Hua Meng.
Leong was the former Bilut state assemblyman under the Bentong parliamentary.
In Lembah Jaya, incumbent Khasim Abdul Aziz from PAS will face Muhamad Nizam Shith, who is also Ampang Umno Youth chief, Haniza Talha (former Taman Medan assemblyman) and PRM's Norizwan Mohamed ( Lembah Jaya PRM coordinator).
