‘Gazette Kg Dew as forest reserve quick’


BAGAN SERAI: Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM) and Kampung Dew Firefly Eco-Tourism Association are appealing to the Perak govern­ment to expedite the gazetting of a firefly habitat zone in Kampung Dew here as a forest reserve.

SAM field researcher Meor Razak Meor Abdul Rahman said the immediate gazetting of the 152.9ha habitat was important in order to preserve and conserve the area from the threat of illegal encroachment.
