Auditor-General's 2017 Report: RM220.41bil worth of revenue collected last year

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Government had collected a total of RM220.41bil worth of revenue last year, an increase of 3.8% (RM7.99bil) from the previous year.

According to the first series of the Auditor-General's 2017 Report, the Government had approved a management allocation amounting to RM216.7bil but a total of RM217.7bil (100.5%) was used.

The report also stated that a total of RM44.88bil (99%) had been used by the Federal Government on development spending from an allocation of RM45.32bil.

The Federal Government also experienced a deficit of RM40.32bil and had taken internal and external borrowings totalling RM129.25bil to repay the loans.
