GEORGE TOWN: It was a lively affair with many of the pupils jostling their way among the crowd to participate in the Merdeka celebration at SJK(T) Subramaniya Bara­thee.

The event started with the singing of Negara Ku and the state anthem, Untuk Negeri Kita, at the school in Bukit Gambir on Friday.
