PM upbeat on new home ownership scheme

SEMENYIH: New schemes to help drive home ownership such as the newly-launched FundMyHome.com will help the government to deliver its promise to build one million houses in 10 years, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Speaking during the launch at the Eco Majestic development here, the Prime Minister said the scheme, the first of its kind in the world, offered first-time home buyers a chance to pay only 20% to own a house worth below RM500,000 while the remaining sum is borne by investors via the peer-to-peer (P2P) financing framework.
