Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called for

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR incoming president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) has given his assurance that all complaints made by members during the party polls will be investigated.

He said all reports and complaints made by opposing camps would be discussed during the party's political bureau meeting but reiterated that party polls must proceed.

"There are a lot...(of complaints) but if you ask me, we will investigate all.

"We are transparent and most importantly the process must go on and can no longer be delayed," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Tuesday (Nov 13).

It was reported earlier that the PKR central election committee (JPP) announced that there would be no re-election for the Julau division in Sarawak, adding that the Pensiangan and Tawau division re-election results will only be revealed once checks are done.

Anwar, who is Port Dickson MP, admitted that there was a lot of uneasiness among members, including claims of lack of transparency and doubtful votes during the party polls.

"We have to follow due process and the party must move forward. Whoever wins or loses, it is part and parcel of democracy.

"Those who are unhappy, there are processes that can be considered and all of the complaints will be investigated.

"(As for) the reports lodged with the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), we will let the authorities investigate.

"The party polls cannot be delayed, this is what I want to stress," Anwar stressed.

The PKR polls, which started on Sept 22, had been hit by a host of problems, including technical glitches, scuffles and also allegations of voter fraud and vote buying.

Though Anwar won the presidency unopposed, the battle for the deputy president’s post, between Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Rafizi Ramli, has been particularly fierce.
