Authorities have six months to verify gems seized by cops

KUALA LUMPUR: The authorities have until May 2019 to confirm whether 44 pieces of jewellery worth US$14.79mil (over RM60mil) allegedly sent to Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor by a Lebanese jeweller were seized by the police.

In an affidavit, Bukit Aman Head of Special Investigation Division of the Anti-Money-Laundering Team, Supt Foo Wei Min (pic) said the police were not yet in a position to talk about the jewellery on oath purportedly seized in a series of raids at properties linked to Rosmah’s husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
