SEREMBAN: The Sg Linggi water treatment plant, which supplies water to parts of Seremban and Port Dickson, is now fully operational.

Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan (Sains) in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 27), said works to strengthen a stretch of river bank which collapsed near the plant on Nov 22 were completed, and this enabled operations to resume.

"Water supply to 70% of the affected area in Port Dickson has been restored, while in Seremban, water is now being supplied to some 90% of the affected area," it said.

Sains said consumers living in hilly areas, as well as at the end of the water supply network will, however, get their supply in stages.

"We will send our lorries to these areas later today and ensure these consumers will continue to have their supply," it said.

Sains said consumers call its toll free number 1-800-88-6982 for more information.

The plant had to be shut down on Nov 22 after a section of the riverbank collapsed, following heavy rain.

This had affected water supply to several areas here, Port Dickson and Rembau.
