PETALING JAYA: PAS Youth has lodged police reporting claiming that DAP received funds from foreign sources allegedly with an agenda to undermine the sovereignty of the country.
In the police reports lodged nationwide, PAS Youth said its assumptions were based on earlier reports by the former political secretary to former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who is now the Finance Minister, as well as reports by a former air force captain and the former Election Commission chief Tan Sri Ab Rashid Ab Rahman.
Federal Territory PAS Youth leader Ubaid Abd Akla filed the report on behalf of Federal Territory PAS at the Dang Wangi police station Wednesday (Feb 13).
“The first report was made by Lim’s former political secretary Mohd Razali Abdul Rahman, who alleged that Lim had taken bribes amounting to RM300mil from Israeli sources.
“The second is from a former air force captain who alleged that DAP received funds from the Open Society Foundation, belonging to financier George Soros.
“The third report was from Ab Rashid who alleged that DAP had received foreign resources to fund the party during the last general election (last May),” Ubaid said.
He also cited US-based International Republican Institute chief Daniel Twining, who claimed that it funded Pakatan parties during GE14.
Ubaid said a report on the matter would be made to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) soon.
PAS has been trying to deflect attention from investigations into an alleged RM90mil the party received, by asking that police and MACC investigate the funding of other political parties as well.
MACC had opened an investigation into allegations that PAS received RM90mil in bribes.
The anti-graft body initiated a probe into claims that PAS was the recipient of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) money after PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Abdul Awang opted for an out-of-court settlement with Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown.
Hadi had earlier sued Rewcastle Brown for libel over an article the whistleblower site published on Aug 6, 2016, alleging the party received RM90mil from Umno.
The MACC has called up several individuals, including current and former PAS members, to have their statements recorded.
