Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng says the government's fiscal consolidation is on track as it targets to reduce the deficit from 3.7% of GDP in 2018 to below 3% by 2021.

SIBU: The Sarawak Finance and Economic Planning Ministry has claimed that the statement made by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng (pic) that the state will go bankrupt in three years if it continues to be ruled by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as totally misleading and politically motivated.

In a press statement Sunday (June 23), it said that as Finance Minister, it was incumbent on Lim to be careful and responsible as any statement from him would be taken as a sign of the health of Malaysia's economy.
