Girl who went missing while bathing in river found drowned

SIBU (Bernama): The body of seven-year-old Julia Purnama, who was reported missing while bathing with her father and a cousin in Sungai Rajang in the Sungai Bidut area near here on Sunday (Aug 25) morning, was found at 10.30pm Monday (Aug 26) night.

Julia’s body was found by her father, who was assisted by friends and locals, after a team from the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue station suspended search-and-rescue operations (SAR) at 6pm Monday.
