PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has refuted allegations that the halal logo will fall under the purview of a company as claimed by Umno vice president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
"Jakim denies the statement and stresses that to date, Jakim and the other respective state religious authorities continue to be the sole responsible authority for the management of Malaysian Halal Certification," it said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 17).
