50 flood evacuees in Baling still at relief centres


No relief in sight: Villagers have been asked to evacuate due to rising flood waters in several areas in Kedah.

ALOR SETAR: Some 50 people from 14 families in Mukong Siong, Baling, who were evacuated due to flash floods following heavy rain, are still housed at two temporary evacuation centres.

Baling Disaster Management Secretariat officer Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said the two relief centres – Kampung Seri Ketengga surau and Kampung Keda Batu 8 community hall – each housed 25 victims from seven families.
