Eight prison wardens turn themselves in after prisoner turns up dead

KOTA KINABALU: Eight wardens from the Prisons Department have surrendered themselves to the police after a prisoner died under their care earlier this month.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Habibi Majinji said the prisoner, jailed in the state Prisons Department in Kepayan near here, was found unconscious on Oct 4 and was taken to the hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead not long after.
