Former Goldman Sachs executive to stand trial in Malaysia next year

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters): Former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng (pic) will face trial in Malaysia in April 2020 for allegedly abetting the sale of US$6.5bil (RM26.89bil) in bonds tied to troubled state fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), a judicial official said on Wednesday (Nov 6).

Malaysia had temporarily surrendered Ng for 10 months to the United States, where he has been charged with conspiring to launder money and bribe government officials in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi through bond offerings that Goldman Sachs Group Inc had handled.
