PETALING JAYA: Whoever takes over as Education Minister must guarantee the existing academic freedom and autonomy of student unions in universities, says the International Islamic University of Malaysia Student Union (IIUMSU).
In a statement yesterday, IIUMSU said no matter who replaced Dr Maszlee Malik, it was important that no one abused student unions for their political and personal gains.
