Annual ritual: Goh praying and making offerings during the sending-off of the Kitchen God at her shop in Stewart Lane, George Town.

GEORGE TOWN: At noon, trader Linda Goh gathered all her family members to perform the annual ritual of sending off Zhao Jun (Kitchen God).

A host of items such as thnee kuih (sticky cake or kuih bakul), ang koo (bean paste cake), mandarin oranges, sweets and joss paper were offered at the altar of her shop in Stewart Lane here.
