Marine cops nab Indonesian boatman, rescue 4,000 live infant tortoises


KOTA KINABALU: Marine police arrested an Indonesian boatman and seized 4,000 live infant freshwater tortoises worth nearly RM1mil in Tawau’s Sungai Haji Kuning rivermouth Tuesday (Feb 4).

A marine police boat, carrying out patrols under Ops Gelora, intercepted the boat which was heading towards Tawau at about 10am, Tawau Marine Police commanding officer Deputy Supt Mohd Nazari Ismail said.
