Court to decide if woman claiming to be Samy Vellu's wife can intervene in Vell Paari's suit

KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court was told that a 59-year-old woman who claims to be the wife of former MIC president Tun S. Samy Vellu should be allowed to intervene in a suit filed by his son, Datuk Seri S. Vell Paari, as she was his lawfully wedded wife.

Lawyer Ramesh Sivakumar, who represented Meeriam Rosaline Edward Paul, said as Samy Vellu's wife, his client was entitled to intervene in the suit that sought to determine the former works minister's mental health state.
