Coded justice: Courts start use of AI to aid sentencing, lawyer claims it is unconstitutional


KOTA KINABALU: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to aid sentencing has started in Sabah courts here Wednesday (Feb 19), with a lawyer claiming that its use violates the Federal Constitution.

The initiative, a progressive move by the Malaysian judiciary to use technology to aid when meting out punishment is seen as an effort to achieve parity in sentencing.
