Factory cleans Sungai Meru

IPOH: A glove factory that was responsible for polluting Sungai Meru in Jelapang here has started cleaning up the foamy substance it caused on the river’s surface.

Some 1km of the river was affected, said acting Perak Environment Committee chairman Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin, adding that he had been told that the clean-up work started immediately after the incident, which occurred on Thursday between 3pm and 4pm.
