Performing terawih prayers at home

Family togetherness: Mahadzir, who usually leads the terawih prayer at Surau At-taqwa every Ramadan as an imam, will this year be leading his family in prayer at their home in Taman Puncak Jalil.

KUALA LUMPUR: Mahadzir Nasaruddin had been leading the daily terawih prayers as the imam at Surau At-taqwa in Bukit Jalil – but not this year.

Mahadzir, 45, said this Ramadan would be different, as the fasting month usually means spending time with the community – the opposite of what social distancing measures demand during the movement control order (MCO) period.“Usually, there is a lot of communal activities during Ramadan, such as the nightly terawih prayers and enjoying a meal together after that.
