The national Movement Control Order(MCO), which has been in effect for more than six weeks, and is unlikely to be extended, will have a significant impact not only on individuals, but also on the entrepreneurial side.
In light of these unforeseen circumstances, entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises face big challenges.
Without any preparedness in dealing with this unanticipated situation, small entrepreneurs are often confused about what to do, what the right marketing strategy is for their business to survive and what they should do if they have more and more employees.
Without proper guidance, it could be that the business has to change quickly or worse, pack up.
Understanding the hardships faced by this group, RichWorks International Sdn Bhd, founded by Asia No.1 marketing specialist and entrepreneur mentor, Dr Azizan Osman, will host the Titan Summit 2020, an online virtual seminar dedicated to helping Malaysian entrepreneurs cope with challenges during and after the MCO.
The three-day seminar, which runs from May 1 to 3, will bring together 50 millionaires who were mentored by Dr Azizan Osman and RichWorks.
These 50 millionaire entrepreneurs will join and share their entrepreneurial knowledge with one mission in mind, which is to help entrepreneurs struggling out there to cope with the challenges brought by the MCO.
Needless to say, since being established 12 years ago in 2008, RichWorks has trained over 10,000 companies through its Master Coach, Dr Azizan.
Interesting fact to note, over 650,000 attendees attended over 1,500 RichWorks seminars and programmess.
With a proven track record, effective business strategies and mentoring programmess, Dr Azizan and RichWorks have helped build thousands of successful entrepreneurs and millionaires over the last six to 24 months.
Here are three of the 50 successful business empires starting from zero to millions with the guidance of Dr Azizan. Let's follow their story!
King's Char Kuey Teow
Who would have thought that, since the small business started as a simple stall under a tree, King's Char Kuey Teow is now well-known and loved. Owned by Aizat Zulhailie Abu Bakr, it is a well-known brand throughout Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan as it has now become a large restaurant that can accommodate 1,500 people at a time.
Having reached a whopping RM44,000 in sales per night as a result of the char kuey teow sales alone, the business has been the talk of visitors to Port Dickson following the brand's billboard along the highway to its restaurant.
Most proudly, King's Char Kuey Teow has been nominated for the TOP 15, Enterprise 50 (E50) Awards recently. Among the 50 big names in Malaysia, this business has won 15th place among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia.
How did this business succeed? It's easy, because Aizat is clear where his business is headed. In the past, he took full responsibility and ownership of all aspects of the business -- going out to the market, taking customer orders and even frying the char kuey teow. But now his business is more systematic and already has 50 employees.
Although King's Char Kuey Teow's restaurant was not open during the MCO, Aizat quickly changed his business model by selling frozen marshmallows and building agent systems, dropships and deliveries to generate revenue so the business could survive.
Eskayvie
The brand of this health product has been around for a long time. It had utilised traditional marketing offline strategies for a long time, as the brand's ads are featured on billboards, televisions, newspapers and in Women's Weekly magazine ads. The 10-year-old brand recorded sales of up to RM60 million with little guidance.
However, the existence of social media caused Eskayvie sales to drop sharply to just RM31 million in 2014. In addition, Kartika Wati Mohamed, founder of Eskayvie Sdn Bhd cited the GST factor as another factor in her struggles. However, sales of this product continued to decline to just RM8 million in 2015 and continued to decline to RM2 million in 2016.
This situation prompted Kartika to close Eskayvie and to try other business opportunities. Instead of letting Kartika fall alone, her staff urged her to join the RichWorks programme. On the second day of the first RichWorks programme she attended, the Wealth and Success Magnet (IMKK), she was determined to enroll in the Titanium program to rebuild the business. After three years, Eskayvie sales jumped from RM2 million to RM45 million a year.
This brand has its own strategy during the MCO. Immediately upon booking, Eskayvie's customer service team continues to attend to calls from customers for advice and consultations on product usage. This is because Eskayvie believes that entrepreneurs need to guide and nurture customers who trust the brand to help improve their health.
Weddings by Emma
Who would have thought that the founder of this brand had ever worked so hard to build her empire only from a narrow flat! Emma Zuraida Jaafar once struggled in a small 700 sq ft apartment with seven other family members including her mother and father.
Her salary as a former Customer Service Executive of RM2,500 was not enough to sustain a comfortable life in the nation’s capital. This made her think about adding to her income. With an interest in the field of creativity and decoration, she started his business by accepting small bookings such as weddings, newborn baby ceremonies and birthday parties.
Thanks to her earnestness, the business has grown thanks to high demand and has been widely cited. But unfortunately, she struggled with debt problems. While searching for a way out, she came across Dr Azizan Osman's video. Studying with Dr Azizan and attending the Richworks programme, the knowledge gained paved the way for her to fix the business’ debt issues.
As a result, her debt problems have been resolved and the Weddings by Emma brand is gaining popularity among celebrities as well as the Royal Wedding Council. In 2019, sales rose to RM4.4 million compared to RM3.7 in 2018.
Of course, the latest situation of the MCO presents a challenge to Weddings by Emma, which includes a suspension of gatherings till the end of the year, but sees that not as an excuse. Thus, she decided to offer a Pre-Order Package at a special price for couples who want to get married next year.
She also continues to engage with customers who have used the Weddings by Emma service to help improve the value of day-to-day preparation in adapting to the new norm.
