Zahid's daughter's case: Chief Registrar's Office denies barring media, NUJ disputes statement

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chief Registrar’s Office has denied that the press was barred from covering a Magistrate’s Court proceedings involving Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid and her husband, who were charged with violating the movement control order (MCO).

In a statement on Wednesday (May 6), it said a check showed that there was no move to prohibit the media from covering the case.

It said apart from Nurulhidayah’s case, there were other cases being heard in the same courtroom at the time, causing the open court to be crowded and unable to practise social distancing.
