MACC arrests assistant officer for requesting, receiving bribe


JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested an assistant officer from the Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAIJ) for requesting and receiving a bribe worth RM130,000.

Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias, in a statement Tuesday (June 16) said that investigations revealed that the suspect had asked and received bribes from a few contractors as a favor for getting supply works projects at the department.
