Survey shows Malaysians turning markedly negative on refugees

PETALING JAYA: Since the Covid-19 outbreak, the perception of refugees has become less positive all over the world, with the negative sentiment in Malaysia being markedly higher than the global average.

The study by market research firm Ipsos shows that since the novel coronavirus pandemic, 82% of Malaysians want the borders to be closed entirely compared to 43% a year ago.
