KOTA KINABALU: A man’s attempt to fix a broken cable cost him his life when he drowned after falling into the river in Papar on Wednesday night (July 1).

The District Fire and Rescue Department and civilians pulled out the remains of the victim, Agku Salam, 38,100m from where he fell in Kampung Mondikot at 6.20pm.
