Understanding your Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik Tambahan statement

TNB will issue a detailed statement of the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik to domestic consumers in their July bill.

TENAGA Nasional Berhad (TNB) will issue a detailed statement of the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik (BPE) to domestic consumers in their July bill.

The statement will clearly indicate the details of the BPE for the preceding months of April, May and June.

This will be accompanied by a guide to explain the discounts and the statement.

In this way, customers can be certain of their electricity consumption and the relevant discount given as per the BPE announcement.

Using the example of the detailed statement, the call outs explain the different discounts and help customers to understand how the total BPE derived.

Consumers will receive the detailed statement together with their July bill via mail within seven days after the meter reading.

They can also view the statement and bill online, on the myTNB website or app 48 hours after receiving the customer notice.

On June 20, the Government in collaboration with TNB announced the BPE as an additional aid to benefit all 7.66 million domestic customers in the form of free electricity up to RM231 (RM77 per month) for April, May and June 2020. This aid will be reflected in your actual bill.

In addition, domestic customers who use electricity between 601-900kWh per month will enjoy a 10% discount from April until December 2020, which is an additional 8% on top of the existing 2% discount rate that they are currently enjoying.

Four sections to take note in the statement are:

> Economic Stimulus discount

> BPE

> Total BPE received (Economic Stimulus discount + BPE) for April to July

> Total amount payable
