New Speaker Art Harun orders Baling MP to apologise, retract racist comment

KUALA LUMPUR: Newly-minted Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun (pic) ordered Umno lawmaker Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim to apologise and retract the alleged sexist and racist remarks against Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto.

Azhar said he came to the decision after looking at the Dewan Rakyat hansard and found that the word "gelap" (dark) used by Baling MP Abdul Azeez was offensive.
