Decision to ‘fine-tune’ Jawi syllabus lauded

EDUCATIONIST groups Dong Zong and Jiao Zong welcomed the Education Ministry’s decision to “fine-tune” the implementation of Jawi calligraphy in the Year Four and Year Five syllabus, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Jiao Zong president Ong Chiow Chuen said they were optimistic about the latest announcement and urged the Education Ministry to implement Tamil and Chinese calligraphy in addition to Jawi calligraphy to promote multiculturalism among pupils.
