KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat passed amendments to the controversial National Security Council Act 2016 to remove the power to declare a security zone from the Prime Minister.
The amendments to Section 18(1) of the Act will give the power to declare a security area to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the eight-member National Security Council chaired by the Prime Minister.
